1. National Autistic Society (NAS)

National Autistic Society (NAS): This organisation offers a wide range of online modules, courses, and some conferences. Training is available for everyone, including those on the autism spectrum, their families, carers, school staff and other professionals. Some training has a charge and some is free. Areas of training include money management, use of social stories, autism and eating challenges, finding employment, and understanding stress and anxiety in autism.

2. Autism Plus

Autism Plus: This organisation offers online and in-person training courses for individuals, organisations and professionals. They offer a consultancy service, too. Training for autistic people includes about wellbeing and employability

3. Scarborough TEC

Scarborough TEC: Level 2 Certificate ‘Understanding Autism’ course (Distance Learning)
This Level 2 course is free to most people, irregardless of income, and can be done online or on paper in your own time over 12 weeks. It covers many aspects of understanding autism including communication, employment, person centred support and much more. The TEC group also offer a Level 3 Understanding Autism course. There are other courses on offer too, including one called ‘Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities’.

4. TYRO Training, Eastfield

TYRO Training, Eastfield: Level 2 Certificate ‘Understanding Autism’ course (Distance Learning)
This Level 2 course is available free to some people depending on their qualifications, age and income. It covers many aspects of autism including communication, employment, person centred support and much more. It is possible to progress to a Level 3 Understanding Autism course.

5. University courses

University courses: Courses about autism are offered at some universities including Sheffield Hallam, Birmingham and London. Courses can be accessed on site, or alternatively via distance learning. The courses are offered at different levels, including at degree, PGCE and at Masters Level.
