Authors: There are a number of books about autism. Some examples are in the photograph above. These include books on various areas the reader may find useful such as supporting autistic children, teenagers, adults, employment issues, sensory sensitivities and much more. Lived experience books written by autistic authors include Temple Grandin, Clare Sainsbury, Dr Wenn Lawson (previously known as Wendy Lawson), Naoki Higashida and Donna Williams. Such books can be purchased new or second-hand online, and ordered through bookshops or at the library.
2.North Yorkshire Libraries
North Yorkshire Libraries: North Yorkshire Libraries have a few hundred books about autism that can be borrowed free of charge if available at local libraries or for a very small charge they can be ordered from other libraries in the county.
