Would you like to take part in the following survey?
Help Autism Action gather the evidence the Government needs about autism and ADHD assessment waiting lists
In collaboration with the University of Nottingham and Bournemouth University, and with the help of their Community Network, Autism Action has launched a national survey about lived experiences, barriers, and support needs of people with experience seeking an autism and/or ADHD assessment. For this to have the biggest impact and to inform the Government about the current assessment crisis, they need to hear from as many people as possible.Content warning: The survey mentions mental health difficulties and experiences of suicidality whilst seeking an assessment.
Who can complete the survey? You can take part if you have experience seeking an autism and/or ADHD assessment (either via the NHS, including Right to Choose, or privately) from 2014 onwards. This could be:
- Your own assessment or
- An assessment for someone you support or care for or
- Both your own assessment and for someone you support or care for
You can complete the survey if you, or the person you support or care for, are at any stage of the assessment.
When do you need to complete the survey by? The survey is due to close at 9am on Monday 7th September 2026 but may be open longer if more responses are needed.
How long will it take to complete?
It depends how complex the assessment process has been, but it is expected to take between 30 and 60 minutes to complete the survey.
