Rise2Thrive Programme (Reducing Inequalities, Supporting Employment): This is an AutismPlus specialist employment support project. Rise2Thrive is designed for neurodivergent adults who are over 18 and not currently employed. Rise2Thrive provide career and training guidance and preparation. They offer personalised 1-1 support in York and North Yorkshire, including Scarborough. They also support those who are in employment but seeking to progress in their career and thrive in their current roles.

2. Blueberry Academy
Blueberry Academy: This academy supports 17 to 60 year olds, including those who are on the autism spectrum, to work towards independence and employment goals. Blueberry run employment sessions at their Scarborough provision in Woodend, The Crescent. Their job-coaches also match learners with local supported work experience placements.

3. Futureworks NY
Futureworks NY:This organisation is based at 40 Victoria Road, YO11 1SD. Futureworks NY provide support, encouragement and guidance to young people from Year 10 upwards and economically inactive adults. They offer many varied opportunities including Functional Skills Maths and English, careers guidance, and projects which can range from outdoor challenges to furniture repair and restoration. They have a shop called Furniture Works where learners can learn customer service and business skills.

4. Jobcentre Plus, Department of Works and Pensions (DWP)
Jobcentre Plus, Department of Works and Pensions (DWP): They are a government-funded employment agency delivering working-age support. Their aim is to help people of working age to find employment through services such as job hunting programmes and external job vacancies. They also provide financial support to eligible job hunters. The Scarborough Jobcentre Plus can help people with additional needs, including autism, to find a job or gain new skills. They can inform about grants that are available such as the Access to Work grant and Specialist Employability Support. The disability advisor can tell you about local employers who have signed up to their disability-friendly employers scheme in the Scarborough area. They can also refer job-seekers to a specialist work psychologist, if appropriate, or carry out an ’employment assessment’.

5. North Yorkshire Council’s Supported Employment for disabled people
North Yorkshire Council’s Supported Employment Services for disabled people: This service works with job-seekers aged 18+ who have ongoing eligible care and support needs. Employment co-ordinators support autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory differences and mental health conditions to prepare for employment. They support the development of employability skills through training, and they help to arrange work interviews and work trials, apprenticeships and work placements. They also give free support to local businesses to support them in offering employment to people who have differing needs.

6.Employment Support and Training (Beyond Housing)
Employment Support and Training (Beyond Housing): For people currently unemployed or working part-time and living in a Beyond Housing property, this organisation offers tailored support to help reach goals in education, training or employment. They also offer support with applying for jobs and interviews.

7. Personalised Learning College (Scarborough)
Personalised Learning College (Scarborough): This North Yorkshire Council service is based at The Street. Personalised Learning College enables young people to access local learning opportunities which will lead towards independence, personal progress, community participation and towards employment. This is achieved by identifying clear learning aims and objectives with the learner. This empowers them with the skills, confidence and challenge to be successful in adult life.

8. Supporting Choice
Supporting Choice: They are based on Hoxton Road in Scarborough and provide supported learning programmes for 16-25 year olds, including those who are on the autism spectrum. Learners work in a supported classroom environment on employability and functional skills (English and Maths). They are supported throughout a range of local work experience placements and supported internships. Wider learning is supported including travel training, social skills and money management.

9. Print Choice
Print Choice: Print Choice is based on Hoxton Road in Scarborough. It is a social enterprise which uses design and printing as a platform to develop employability skills for young people including those who are neurodivergent. Interns are supported through work placement at Print Choice and learn a range of employability skills alongside working on design skills.

10. AutismPlus Multiply (Numeracy Skills)
AutismPlus Multiply (Numeracy Skills): This programme is available in Scarborough and beyond to offer individualised support in developing numeracy skills. These include skills linked to managing money, understanding wage slips, opening bank accounts, tips on how to save money in running costs at home and much more. The programme is for anyone with neurodivergent conditons, 19+, and based in North Yorkshire. It is free.

11. Coast Tuition and Coast Tuition Community (School Leavers, Transition and Adult Learners)
Coast Tuition and Coast Tuition Community: This private company works with learners of school age, school leavers and adult learners. They offer a wide range of provisions.
School leavers, transition and adult learners: Coast Tuition are an accredited National College Open Network (NOCN) training centre offering qualifications in Functional Skills, Employability, Pre-Tenancy and Pathways. They also offer a bespoke one year transition programme in Preparing for Further Learning or Employment Entry Level 3.
